CyCLOPS+ Second Regional Stakeholder Seminar

CyCLOPS+ Second Regional Stakeholder Seminar

The CyCLOPS+ project successfully organized its second Regional Stakeholder Seminar on 7 February 2026, bringing together key stakeholders and professionals in a targeted dissemination activity focused on technical collaboration and knowledge exchange

The event followed the official presentation of CyCLOPS+ at the technical workshop of the Cyprus Association of Rural and Surveying Engineers (CARSE), strengthening the connection between the research community and industry stakeholders.

The dissemination activity was structured in two complementary parts:

Open Technical Presentation (CARSE Workshop)

During the CARSE technical workshop, the CyCLOPS+ team presented the scientific and technological objectives of the project to a broader technical audience. The presentation highlighted the integration of GNSS and InSAR technologies and introduced the Cyprus Ground Motion Service (CyGMS) platform.

Special emphasis was placed on:

  • The national-scale coverage of the CyCLOPS monitoring network
  • The importance of integrated geodetic monitoring
  • A live demonstration of the CyGMS platform
A key highlight of the session was the announcement of the approval of CyGOS (Cyprus Geohazards Observatory Supersite) as a Permanent Geohazard Supersite under the GEO–GSNL initiative, with support from CEOS.

Closed Stakeholder Session

Following the workshop, a dedicated closed session was held with selected stakeholders and professionals, enabling in-depth technical discussions and direct interaction with end-users.

The session focused on:

  • The practical use of the CyCLOPS infrastructure by survey engineers
  • Implementation challenges, including updates to the national geodetic datum
  • Collection of targeted feedback from stakeholders

Participants also engaged in round-table discussions, addressing real-world issues such as GNSS interference observed in recent years.

Through this two-part dissemination activity, CyCLOPS+ continues to strengthen collaboration between academia, industry, and public stakeholders, ensuring that its services are aligned with real operational needs and contribute to the sustainable development of geospatial infrastructure in Cyprus.
