CyCLOPS project presentation at the 135th EuroSDR Pan-European Conference

13 November 2019 – The coordinator of CyCLOPS, Dr. Chris Danezis, presented the aims and objectives of the research project to the audience of the 135th EuroSDR Pan-European Conference.

The conference was hosted by the Department of Lands and Surveys (DLS) and lasted from 13 to 15 November 2019.

EuroSDR is a non-profit organization that links National Cartographic and Land Survey Organizations to research institutes and universities in Europe, for furthering applied research on the production, management and dissemination of geospatial data. Cyprus is represented in the EuroSDR organization by the DLS and the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT).

This organization is comprised by 18 countries in total with 19 members from the European National Cartographic and Cadastral Organizations and 14 members from European research institutes and universities, as well as 5 members from the private sector.

During the first day of the Conference, a total of 10 presentations were made by DLS officers, CUT professors and private sector professionals. The President of EuroSDR welcomed the very high quality of scientific research in Cyprus, production, management and dissemination of geospatial data. During the next two following days there were presentations, discussions and exchange of know-how from the European area in the field of geospatial information.
