A possible location for the installation of the GPS/GNSS station of the CyCLOPS network is in the region of Akamas peninsula. The protected area of Akamas lies on the west coast of Cyprus and is part of the Natura 2000 network, from 2009. On the 18th of June 2020, the CyCLOPS team carried out 24h in-situ measurements to assess the suitability and accessibility of the area. GNSS equipment has been temporarily installed in a rocky area to account for stability and safety issues. Furthermore, the candidate location has an elevation that reaches up to 400m, making it possible to avoid various obstacles to achieve the highest possible degree of satellite visibility and observation quality in GPS/GNSS measurements. Data acquisition was carried out using a Trimble® R9s multi-GNSS receiver equipped with a Zephyr 3 Geodetic antenna.
