Education: Mr. Andreas Christofe holds a BSc/MSc degree in Civil and Structural Engineering from Aristotle University in Thessaloniki (1996). During his studies as well as his dissertation work he was granted a scholarship from the Greek State Scholarship Foundation (I.K.Y). He is a member of the Eratosthenis research centre and he is currently undertaking a PHD in the field of durability of reinforced concrete using remote sensing and GIS technologies.
Professional background: After graduating, he was employed by Athinodorou Super Beton Ltd (1997-2008) as chief civil engineer in the field of design, production and quality control of ready-mix concrete. During his employment he focused on importing and introducing new technologies for ready-mix concrete to improve the use of raw materials and enhance production capabilities. He is a licensed contractor from The Council for the Registration and Control of Contractors in Cyprus since 2008 and he worked as a general manager in R & A Constructions Ltd dealing with large infrastructure projects .He had also worked as a senior consultant in the areas of Crisis and Disaster management as well as in Seismic Design of large infrastructure projects.In 2012- 2013, he was employed in the Department of Secondary Technical and Vocational Education of the Cyprus Ministryof Education and Culture. During his employment he was teaching several courses in civil and structural engineering
Research: His research focuses on the areas of building condition assessment using remote sensing and GIS technologies. He currently participates in the Anagennisis project funded by the EU’s FP7 programme in the field of Innovative Reuse of All Tyre Components in Concrete. He has also worked as a researcher in many other research projects.
