Education: Dr. Athos Agapiou holds a PhD in the field of “Remote Sensing in Archaeology” from the Department of Civil and Geomatics Engineering, Cyprus University of Technology. In addition, Dr. Agapiou holds three M.Sc. and one MA in Archaeology (Department of History and Archaeology, University of Cyprus), Geo‐informatics (School of Rural and Surveying Engineering, National Technological University of Athens) and Surveying Engineering (School of Rural and Surveying Engineering, National Technological University of Athens). He is a Teaching and Research Fellow with CUT.
Professional background: He is a Teaching and Research Fellow with CUT. He has published articles in more than 120 international journals, chapters of books and papers in proceedings of international conferences. He has also been involved in more than 25 research projects. Moreover, he has been participating in more than 10 projects of archaeological investigations and excavations. Dr Agapiou has been participating and organising workshops within EU Marie Curie projects. Dr Agapiou is a full member of: Aerial Archaeology Research Group (AARG); Cyprus Scientific and Technical Chamber (Ε.Τ.Ε.Κ); Association of Surveying Engineers of Cyprus; Association of Cypriot Archaeologists; CAA Greece etc.
Research: His scientific interests include the fields of Remote Sensing, field Spectroscopy, Geographic Information Systems (G.I.S.) and Geometric Documentation intended for archaeological research and Cultural Heritage.
