CyCLOPS at ICONHIC 2022
Dr Chris Danezis was invited as a keynote speaker at the 3rd International Conference on Natural Hazards and Infrastructure (ICONHIC 2022) conference, which took place in Athens, Greece between the 5th and 7th July 2022. in the framework of this conference, he gave an oral presentation titled ‘Building a Permanent Strategic Earth Observation Infrastructure to Monitor Geohazards in Cyprus: The case of CyCLOPS’ on the 07th July 2021. During the conference, he had the opportunity to promote the CyCLOPS infrastructure and discuss with stakeholders and scientists from the discipline of Civil Engineering and specifically on infrastructure resilience the importance of incorporating permanent space-based infrastructures in their assessment methodologies. Additionally, he highlighted the importance and benefit for Cyprus from the establishment of a strategic infrastructure unit focused on monitoring natural hazards towards the road to sustainable development.
